In 1997, founding partners, Dwayne D. Woodruff, Esq. and
Shawn T. Flaherty, Esq. formed their law practice in the Shadyside section of Pittsburgh. The partnership was bound for success based upon their popularity in the city and their distinguished legal careers.
Dwayne Woodruff was a former Pittsburgh Steeler, Super Bowl Champion and gained notoriety nationwide for attending and excelling in law school while still playing football for the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
Shawn T. Flaherty, Esq. was the eldest son of the beloved former Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh, the late Honorable Peter (Pete) Flaherty. Our office had the pleasure of working with 'Pete' for several years prior to his passing.
Dwayne and Shawn became lifelong friends at Duquesne University School of Law and then began their law practices together as Associates at Meyer, Unkovic & Scott, LLP (Pittsburgh, PA).
In 1997, their newly found law firm was an immediate success. Founded upon integrity, hard work and commitment to clients, Woodruff & Flaherty, P.C. was a recognized and respected law firm.
In 1999, Noah Paul Fardo, Esq., joined the firm as an Associate. By 2004, he was offered full partnership in Woodruff, Flaherty & Fardo, LLC.
In 2006, partner Dwayne Woodruff, Esq. was presented with an opportunity to give back to the public and was elected as a Judge in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County where he works in the juvenile division. Judges are not allowed to hold partnerships with law firms. Accordingly, In 2006, the firm name was changed to FLAHERTY FARDO, LLC.

He has been a practicing attorney in the state of Pennsylvania and in the Third Circuit for over 20 years.
Prior to founding the firm Flaherty Fardo, LLC, Shawn Flaherty was a partner in Woodruff & Flaherty. There he partnered with Attorney Dwayne D. Woodruff, Esquire, who is now a presiding Judge in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
Mr. Flaherty is the son of the late Mayor Pete Flaherty and a life long resident of
Allegheny County, currently residing in Fox Chapel.
Mr. Fardo's trial litigation efforts have included representation of catastrophically injured clients and assisting family members in pursuing wrongful death claims arising from
truck and auto accidents,
medical malpractice, professional negligence and premises liability.
William F. Rogel, Esq.
Attorney Bill Rogel is entering his 4th year at Flaherty Fardo, LLC and in 2009 was offered a minority partnership based upon his work ethic and value to the firm.
He is an avid litigator whose efforts are currently focused in
Pennsylvania medical malpractice,
personal injury law, debt collection, general business litigation, and appellate law. He is known for his abilities in writing briefs to the Pennsylvania Superior Court, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, and most recently, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. His is in charge of all major legal research projects for the firm.
This past fall he successfully convinced the Pennsylvania Superior Court to affirm a commercial landlords verdict in excess of $100,000.00 thus ensuring victory in a 6 year litigation case for a valuable client of the firm.

Jennifer Jara Mislanovich is an associate specializing in civil litigation, including business disputes, debt collection and Allegheny County assessment appeals.
She has significant experience with business litigation and, in particular,
debt collection throughout the state of Pennsylvania. She has handled cases in more than half of the 67 counties in Pennsylvania and has spent considerable time ensuring that our firm is compliant with local rules in each of the counties.
She is well versed in transferring and
executing upon judgments and is responsible for managing the firm’s contact with key clients including student loan agencies, mortgage companies and banks from across the United States. She is our lead contact person for clients involving major banks and student loan agencies from both Texas and Colorado.

Dean Fardo, M.D.
Dr. Fardo obtained his B.S. degree in both biology and engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he graduated with Honors and was elected into AOA, the national medical honor society. Dr. Fardo completed both general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at the Grand Rapids/Michigan State University program.
After completing his residency, Dr. Fardo sought out the best additional cosmetic surgery training available, and he completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic and a oculoplastic(eyelid) fellowship at PACES Plastic Surgery. This makes Dr. Fardo one of the few surgeons nationwide that has formal training in both Plastic Surgery and Oculoplastic Surgery.
After his training was completed, Dr. Fardo was an Attending Staff Physician at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic for 3 years. His specialties there were cosmetic and oculoplastic surgery.
Dr. Dean Fardo routinely reviews and discusses cases involving general surgery and
plastic or cosmetic surgery errors. Dr. Dean Fardo is a board certified plastic surgeon who has been reviewing cases for FLAHERTY FARDO for over 10 years. He is an invaluable asset to our
medical malpractice attorneys.
Barbara E. Fardo, D.O.
Dr. Barbara E. Fardo is board certified in family practice by the American Academy of Family Practice. She owns and operates a family practice in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Barbara Fardo is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Philadelphia. She completed her residency at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She has significant experience in treating elderly patients and is pivotal in our ability to review nursing home neglect and elder abuse cases. She also has significant experience in reviewing
OB/GYN (Obstetrician/gynecologist) cases.
Dr. Fardo's greatest strength to us is rendering objective and impartial opinions to ensure that we only pursue cases where a deviation from the acceptable standard of care is noted by our physicians.
