Our domain name for our website is Pghfirm.com. This of course is the abbreviation for the "Pittsburgh Firm". We chose this name because of our deep historic ties, commitment and love for the City of Pittsburgh.
We believe Pittsburgh has a reputation and tradition of working hard, being honest, having integrity and treating people the way that you would expect to be treated. This is how we try to operate our Pittsburgh Law Firm.
Founded in 1997 by Dwayne D. Woodruff and Shawn T. Flaherty, both partner's names were highly recognizable in the city of Pittsburgh since the 1970’s. Dwayne as a former Pittsburgh Steeler who won a Super Bowl in 1979, while he was attending law school, and Shawn, as the son the late great Pittsburgh Mayor, Pete Flaherty. After becoming friends in law school, and both establishing careers at larger law firms, Shawn and Dwayne decided to start their own law firm, which former Mayor Pete Flaherty was also involved in. One of their first hires in 1998 was Attorney Noah Fardo. The firm was changed to Woodruff, Flaherty and Fardo, LLC in 2004.
In 2006, partner Dwayne Woodruff, Esq. was elected as a Judge in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County where he currently works in the juvenile division, and the firm name was changed to in 2006 to Flaherty Fardo, LLC. This is about the same time Attorney William Rogel joined the firm. In 2010, the firm added Attorney Nicole Amick.
In 2013, the firm awarded partnership to Attorneys Amick and Rogel, and they both became named partners in 2019.
Over the last 20 years, our team of lawyers, has been recognized for numerous achievements including: Super lawyers, Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Multi-MillionDollar Advocates Forum, Pittsburgh Magazine Top Attorneys, Tribune Reader Awards Recipient, Elite Lawyers of America, Top 100 Trial Attorneys, and has received an A+ from the Western Pennsylvania Better Business Bureau.
While the accolades are nice, more important to us, is that we would like to believe, that a vast majority of all of our thousands of clients have been satisfied with our legal services and would highly recommend us to their family and friends.
Over firm is focused on helping victims of serious personal injury and medical malpractice claims. We also have attorneys who specialize on debt collection and tax appeal litigation.
Meet Our Attorneys
Nothing says more about the quality of our services than when our clients feel that they can trust us and want to work with us in the future. A significant portion of our practice is referrals from past clients. We work hard to keep our clients continuously updated and believe in the importance of client communication. Our attorneys take pride in being as immediately accessible as possible. Our clients should never have any difficulty reaching us or us responding typically the same day.
In short, we treat our clients in the same manner as we would want and expect to be treated. We believe the law is a service related industry and our goal is always to provide top service for our clients.
Preparation leads to positive results. We are prepared for every motion, hearing, meeting, deposition and trial. We believe that the best settlements can only happen when the defendants know and see our preparation. Therefore, we prepare and expect every single case to go to trial because often that is how you can obtain the best settlement or result for the client.
At the end of the lawsuit or settlement, the only question that matters is whether our clients were satisfied. In the end, our clients must be satisfied, and they will not be satisfied unless we are fair and produce results. We are always fair and our goal is to retain every single client we have. We believe we truly care about our clients and are proud of the client testimonials we have received to date.
Clients hire us for results, and meeting the expectations of our clients is an important measure of the results. We can only have satisfied clients if the clients are satisfied with the results. This is the bar by which we measure ourselves.
Pittsburgh is a small town, and we believe in the golden rule in treating others as you would like to be treated. This applies to everyone, including opposing attorneys. Handling cases in a professional ethical manner is at that foremost of our practice. Our goal is to be respected by the legal community, feared by opposing counsel, and appreciated by our clients, when it comes litigating lawsuits and resolving their legal problems.
