Our website domain, Pghfirm.com, is short for “The Pittsburgh Firm” — a name we proudly chose because of our deep roots, unwavering commitment, and genuine love for the City of Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh represents hard work, honesty, and integrity. It’s a city built on blue-collar values and treating people with fairness and respect — and that’s exactly how we strive to operate our law firm every single day.
Flaherty Fardo Rogel & Amick was originally founded in 1997 by Shawn T. Flaherty and Dwayne D. Woodruff, two names already familiar throughout Western Pennsylvania. Dwayne, a former Pittsburgh Steeler and Super Bowl XIIIchampion, attended law school while still playing in the NFL. Shawn is the son of the late Mayor Pete Flaherty, one of Pittsburgh’s most respected public servants. After forming a close friendship in law school and working at larger firms, Shawn and Dwayne partnered to launch a firm committed to excellence, client service, and community values. The Honorable Pete Flaherty was also involved in the firm’s early development. In 1998, they hired Attorney Noah Paul Fardo, who would help lead the firm into its next era.
In 2004, the firm officially became Woodruff, Flaherty & Fardo, LLC. Two years later, in 2006, Dwayne Woodruff was elected Judge in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, where he continues to serve in the juvenile division. Following his election, the firm transitioned to Flaherty Fardo, LLC, around the same time Attorney William Rogeljoined the practice.
In 2010, Attorney Nicole Amick joined the firm. By 2013, both Amick and Rogel were awarded partnership, and in 2019, the firm was proudly renamed to reflect its current leadership: Flaherty Fardo Rogel & Amick, LLC.Over the past two decades, our attorneys have been consistently recognized for their results and professional excellence.

Meet Our Attorneys
Nothing says more about the quality of our services than when our clients feel that they can trust us and want to work with us in the future. A significant portion of our practice is referrals from past clients. We work hard to keep our clients continuously updated and believe in the importance of client communication. Our attorneys take pride in being as immediately accessible as possible. Our clients should never have any difficulty reaching us or us responding typically the same day.
In short, we treat our clients in the same manner as we would want and expect to be treated. We believe the law is a service related industry and our goal is always to provide top service for our clients.
Preparation leads to positive results. We are prepared for every motion, hearing, meeting, deposition and trial. We believe that the best settlements can only happen when the defendants know and see our preparation. Therefore, we prepare and expect every single case to go to trial because often that is how you can obtain the best settlement or result for the client.
At the end of the lawsuit or settlement, the only question that matters is whether our clients were satisfied. In the end, our clients must be satisfied, and they will not be satisfied unless we are fair and produce results. We are always fair and our goal is to retain every single client we have. We believe we truly care about our clients and are proud of the client testimonials we have received to date.
Clients hire us for results, and meeting the expectations of our clients is an important measure of the results. We can only have satisfied clients if the clients are satisfied with the results. This is the bar by which we measure ourselves.
Pittsburgh is a small town, and we believe in the golden rule in treating others as you would like to be treated. This applies to everyone, including opposing attorneys. Handling cases in a professional ethical manner is at that foremost of our practice. Our goal is to be respected by the legal community, feared by opposing counsel, and appreciated by our clients, when it comes litigating lawsuits and resolving their legal problems.
