About

Nicole Amick

Partner | Real Estate & Property Tax Assessment Attorney

Attorney Nicole Hauptman Amick is widely regarded as the preeminent property tax assessment appeal attorney in Allegheny County. A Partner at Flaherty Fardo Rogel & Amick, her practice focuses exclusively on real estate litigation and property tax appeals — where she has developed a reputation for unmatched preparation, deep legal knowledge, and consistent results.

Nicole has been with Flaherty Fardo since the beginning of her legal career, becoming a Partner in 2013 and a named Partner in 2019. Over the past decade, she has successfully represented thousands of property owners — both residential and commercial — helping save hundreds of millions of dollars in property taxes throughout Allegheny County.

She regularly appears before the Allegheny County Board of Property Assessment Appeals and Review (BPAAR) and the Board of Viewers (BOV) and is frequently called upon to defend taxpayers in appeals filed by school districts and other taxing authorities. Nicole is universally respected among fellow assessment attorneys, hearing officers, and the Board of Viewers — a reputation earned through years of tireless preparation, professionalism, and results.

She has been recognized by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 13 consecutive years (2013–2025) — an honor reserved for fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania. This rare streak reflects not only early-career excellence but a sustained level of performance and leadership in her field.

Nicole is also a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs, where she teaches other attorneys how to navigate the assessment appeals process. She is the go-to resource for lawyers across Western Pennsylvania who regularly refer clients to her for trusted, effective representation.

Clients praise Nicole for her responsiveness, sharp analysis, and unwavering advocacy, and her work has made her one of the most respected and sought-after tax appeal attorneys in the region.

I was recommended to Flaherty Fardo. I was impressed with their professionalism and thoroughness in handling a wrongful death suit. Noah and his team, Bill and Jaclyn. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Jaclyn was very easy to work with when I had questions and Bill as well. They kept me informed throughout the case. This firm is top notch. I also had an injury case and had a successful outcome as well. I will recommend this firm highly to anyone needing a highly professional and successful law firm. Thank you Noah and your great team. "Highly Recommended" just isn't enough praise. They are by far the best I have ever worked with. Professional, but beyond that their personal touch is exactly what a medical malpractice client or personal injury client needs. Noah Fardo is amazing, but the entire firm were great to us. I honestly can't thank Bill Rogel, Nicole Hauptman Amick, and Jaclyn Gibson enough. Thank you all.

During the wrongful death settlement proceeds allocation battle, Noah and his team were constantly keeping me informed. They genuinely cared about my situation and made me feel like I was their only client. I cannot express the elation that I felt once everything was settled. If it weren't for Noah and his team I would still be in a legal battle. I am extremely impressed with their knowledge, expedience and professionalism. I will be making a special 1800 mile road trip to just shake their hands. Thanks again Noah, Nicole, William, and Brian.

What Our Clients Say

"We had such a positive experience. They were responsive, prompt, completely professional. They communicated clearly, gave us honest assessments, were 100% reliable and kept on top of everything over a long period of time. (They were the opposite of predatory, for what it's worth.) And...the outcome was very good. Highly recommend."

Jake Goodman

"After a building permit for a small exterior repair triggered a crazy hike in the tax assessment of my properties, I hired a different legal firm to make the initial appeal to the Board of Property Assessment. After receiving a denial on the appeal, I turned to Attorney Nicole Hauptman Amick of Flaherty Fardo, LLC for our last recourse, a Common Pleas hearing in front of the Allegheny County Board of Viewers (BOV). Since this was our final shot at appeal my husband and myself were leery about turning this over to another law firm rather than attempting representation ourselves. However, after meeting with Nicole, we were so deeply impressed with her demeanor and knowledge of the process, we agreed to let her handle the appeal. What a good decision! Within WEEKs she met with the representatives of the taxing bodies and worked out a very fair settlement. We were delighted! I cannot recommend Nicole and Flaherty Fardo, LLC enough."

Mary Virginia Shea

"Nicole Hauptman Amick went above and beyond for my husband and I to get a very reasonable settlement on our school taxes on our new house. Her and the company went above and beyond for us. She was very easy to get a hold of, answered in a timely manner, and was not over priced like other places I got quotes from. She did all the leg work for us and represented us in person without us needing to go. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who needs an attorney."

"Nicole did an excellent job in handling my assessment appeal. I found out they were raising my assessment late and only had a few days left to file. I hired her immediately and she filed everything quickly and kept me informed of the whole process. Basically it only took about ten weeks to get everything done successfully.I got a $150,000 reduction in my assessment. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of assessment appeals."

"From start to finish Nicole was prompt returning emails and the whole process was seamless. She worked hard to get my property assessment down dramatically and when I asked her to try to get it a little lower she succeeded. Nicole is prompt, knowledgeable and not afraid to take a chance to rise above where others would not."
